Switch Hosting Today |
Switching your hosting provider should not be a difficult task, and can be done with relative ease if you follow our simple guide below. |
Create A New Hosting Account |
If you're ready to transfer you will need to order your new hosting package via our automated ordering system. This process is quick and easy, and can be completed online. |
To take advantage of the six month discount you will need to use the coupon code TRANSFER during the ordering process |
|
The 6 months free coupon code is available to customers transferring their hosting to Trustico only. All discounted orders are checked for authenticity. |
Backup Your Exisitng Website & Database |
The first thing you need to do is make a backup of your current website, this can be done easly using a FTP client. Simply connect to your site, and download all the files from the server in your web root folder. This folder is typically called "public_html", "html" or "www". |
If you have any databases you will need to export them and then import them into the new hosting account. For more information on exporting your database you may need to contact your existing hosting provider. |
Upload & Configure |
The next stage is to transfer your website files to our hosting servers using an FTP Client. For a detailed explanation on how to do this please see our guide to Uploading Content To Your Website. |
If you have a database you will now need to setup your database and configure your website to access it. |
Redelegate Your Domain Name |
Now that you've got your new hosting package setup and have transferred your website you can proceed to update your DNS records at your domain registrar. |
We have two DNS servers which should be used when redelegating your domain name : |
DNS1.TRUSTICO.COM
DNS2.TRUSTICO.COM |
Your domain registrar is where you purchased your domain name from and at the time of purchase you should have received an e-mail from them that contained instructions on how to manage your domain name. Please Contact Us if you require further assistance. |
